Role & Responsibilities:
PJT Camberview seeks an experienced and highly motivated Vice President to join our advisory team. The Vice President should have a background in portfolio management or in buy-side or sell-side equity research. This role is not sector-specific, and candidates will be expected to operate within a generalist model. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to develop and translate a deep understanding of current issues related to portfolio management, activism and corporate governance into actionable advice for clients.
Responsibilities of the Vice President include, but are not limited to, the following:
Execution of client engagements
> Manage all aspects of day-to-day client engagements, with support of client lead as needed
> Conduct analyses of client's fundamental challenges, investor messaging gaps and corporate governance practices
> In conjunction with client lead, deliver advice to senior client executives and directors across a range of fundamental and governance issues
> Assist companies in navigating complex investor relations challenges and in articulating a compelling investment thesis to retain current shareholders and appeal to prospective shareholders
> Work with client lead to develop strategies for engaging with and securing support of governance-oriented investors
> Lead engagement team of Analysts and Associates in the development of supporting materials and analyses
> Efficiently leverage expertise from across the firm to address client issues
Support Senior Leaders in Business Development
> Support Partners and Managing Directors in evaluating potential clients and developing strategic talking points in preparation for pitching new business
> Conduct research on potential new business activities
> Support Partners and Managing Directors in developing the go-to-market strategy for new service offerings and geographies
> Work with BD team and Partners to identify and prioritize prospects
> Identify and work with Partners and Managing Directors to pursue ancillary business opportunities within existing client base
> Support the BD team in generating ideas for refining our BD processes
> Serve as a leader and mentor to Analysts and Associates; effectively leveraging and developing skill sets as appropriate helping to develop the next generation of Vice Presidents
We seek to hire individuals who are highly motivated and intelligent. Successful candidates will possess the following:
> 6+ years of work experience in an investor role and/or an advisory role providing strategic advice to public companies
> Bachelor's Degree; with a strong academic record
> Outstanding leadership qualities
> Collaborative and team oriented with sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills
> Excellent verbal and written communication skills
> Proven ability to develop written presentation and thought leadership materials
> Ability to communicate effectively in presentations and express complex strategies in an organized and articulate manner
> Highly organized, detailed-oriented and proactive
> Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
