The Analytics group develops applications which facilitate tasks for portfolio managers, risk analysts, and performance analysts. Group members have strong financial backgrounds and understand the workflow of each of these investment professional types.
FactSet's Portfolio Analysis product is the backbone of the analytics suite and the premiere portfolio analysis tool in the industry. Portfolio Analysis is and will continue to be a main driver of growth for FactSet. This product is one of FactSet's key competitive advantages and product differentiators.
While we consider candidates with a strong interest in FinTech from any major, we especially encourage applicants with backgrounds in finance, MIS, economics, business administration, and applied mathematics. Above all, we look for candidates with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Develop a deep understanding of our users and their workflows * Support applications by answering questions, troubleshooting bugs, and working on enhancement requests * Create product specific documentation that can be shared with both the Fixed Income and Derivatives product team as well as other departments at FactSet * Participate in product focused rotations designed to teach the portfolio management process and provide exposure to multiple aspects of the Portfolio Analysis application * Ask effective questions in various situations to gather information and uncover user needs * Analyze user workflows to arrive at clear vision of needs to optimize the user experience * See projects through to completion, including client facing alerts, QA test cases, internal/external documentation and any other updates necessary to make sure the project is successful * Work with other departments such as Content, Risk and Analytics at FactSet, to assure all product decisions are made with the portfolio lifecycle in mind * Communicate with clients about new product releases and existing workflow/methodology * Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
